About

Twelve boys from Norfolk U13's cricket will be touring Cape Town, 12th February – 22nd February 2015. The squad will be travelling with three coaches, their current Team Manager and ex-Norfolk Captain/Coach Paul Newman plus Luke Caswell and Kevin Denmark.

Whilst on tour we will visit many of Cape Town's wonderful sights including Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Cape Peninsula Coast. It is our intention to visit two townships, Langa and Kayelitsha, as well as Baphumelele Children's Home, the charity we are supporting. We will play four cricket matches against local clubs and school teams.

Langa CC vs Norfolk U13's

Our first fixture was against Langa CC. It was extremely windy which was challenging for batting and bowling!

We won! For some of the Langa players it was their first match. Match report to follow.

On the boundary, using some of the donated juggling balls we taught the local children how to juggle and catch.

After the match Judge made a speech and highlighted how well the Langa boys had played.
We then presented Langa CC with donated cricket bags full of cricket equipment and clothing. Eric from the club showed his appreciation for our donations to Langa CC. He said this will encourage so many children in Langa Township to play cricket.
Finally, Judge presented their coach with a Tour Brochure, Tour Pennant and a mini Tour bat with they players names and a squad photo on.

What a fantastic day!!!
