About

Twelve boys from Norfolk U13's cricket will be touring Cape Town, 12th February – 22nd February 2015. The squad will be travelling with three coaches, their current Team Manager and ex-Norfolk Captain/Coach Paul Newman plus Luke Caswell and Kevin Denmark.

Whilst on tour we will visit many of Cape Town's wonderful sights including Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Cape Peninsula Coast. It is our intention to visit two townships, Langa and Kayelitsha, as well as Baphumelele Children's Home, the charity we are supporting. We will play four cricket matches against local clubs and school teams.

Camps Bay

This was our first real taste of the South African sun and beaches. We hired sun loungers and parasols; to enjoy the beautiful day. It was 33 degrees and not very windy. However the sea was freezing cold about 16 degrees and they say it never usually gets above 17! Still many of us went swimming and it was like doing the ice bucket challenge at a whole new level! Some of us even saw a school of dolphins!

We played beach cricket and football. Ice creams and drinks were served to us on the beach. We were able to spend a lot more time on the beach, because unfortunately we were unable to safely enter the Khayelitsha township to visit the Baphumelele children's home.
